movies (* = must see)

*Julie & Julia – So what if it’s a chick flick? I enjoyed it for some stupid reason.

*Tampopo – Possibly the best food-related movie of. all. time. no. joke.

Sideways – Giamatti plays a bitch and Oh plays a man. Still, somewhat entertaining to watch once every few years.

*Ratatouille – I like cartoons, but I don’t like how this screams ‘foodie’.

*Eat Drink Man Woman – Ang Lee? Really? Yes ma’am! Quite a fun one — little bit weird at the end, but that’s Lee for you.

Soul Food – A crappy movie in which the big mama feeds her family every sunday and eventually dies of eating fatty, fried foods…and then her children hold the same unhealthy dinner in her memory.

God of Cookery – A silly Stephen Chow (remember him from Kung-Fu Hustle?) movie with a cooking theme. Hong Kong humor.

*Udon – Touching movie about a directionless kid and his town’s obsession with udon.
